Batala: A case has come to light that a youth kidnapped a 10-year-old child from a petrol pump located near Khajuri Gate in Batala. After this, people called the police on the spot and the police took the youth into custody and started investigation. Eyewitnesses Rohit and Prabhajot, brothers of the ten-year-old child, said that the youth was forcibly taking the child, the child was trying to run away. The drunken youth was taking the bike by himself, people stopped the youth and freed the child.
When the youth was questioned, he started calling himself a policeman and also produced a Punjab Police identity card from his pocket. People informed the police. On receiving the information, the police team reached the spot and took the youth to the city police station.
Batala Police DSP Lalit Kumar said that the police team nabbed the arrested youth Heera Singh who was forcibly carrying the child and recovered the identity card of Punjab Police from his pocket. The entire matter will be investigated and appropriate legal action will be taken.
