Twitter said that the new label transparency will broadly have two types of labels: author labels and audience labels. These labels will display which Tweets have potentially violated the policy for both the Tweet author and other users on Twitter. Currently, these labels only apply to Tweets that potentially violate Twitter’s hateful conduct policy. The labeled content will not contain any advertising.

Authors will be able to appeal

Twitter also announced that if it flagged a tweet as violating its policy, the tweet’s author would be able to respond if they feel their tweet was unfairly banned.

Additionally, submitting feedback does not guarantee that authors will receive a response or that access to labeled Tweets will be restored, the company said, which is a work in progress.
