Washington, May 19 (Hindustan). Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi is arriving on an official visit to America next month, in June. During this, there will be full emphasis on increasing India’s military strength. There can be an important agreement between the two countries on the joint manufacturing of weapons. There was extensive discussion in this regard in the meeting between the Defense Secretaries of the two countries.
This visit is going to be an important milestone in strengthening the relations between India and America. During the visit, important agreements are expected to be signed between India and the US on jet engines, long-range weapons and joint manufacturing of armored vehicles and tanks. Talks have started between the two countries regarding this. After these agreements, India’s self-reliance on arms will further increase. At present the weapons and jet engines etc. which India has to buy from other countries, in future India will manufacture them itself with the help of America.
India’s Defense Secretary Giridhar Aramane is currently on a visit to the US ahead of Prime Minister Modi’s visit. In the 17th meeting of the US-India Defense Policy Group, he discussed the defense relationship between the two countries with US Secretary of Defense Kathleen Hicks. During this, talks were held on joint production of jet engines, long-range weapons and armored vehicles.
US Department of Defense Pentagon spokesman Eric Pahn said that the two officials discussed strengthening India-US ties, including defense production cooperation and operational partnership. US Defense Secretary Kathleen Hicks said that the friendship between India and America is very important for maintaining peace and prosperity in the Indian Pacific Ocean region. This is the reason why military, technical cooperation is increasing between the two countries.
