New Delhi: Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said that the new Parliament building should be inaugurated by the President. It represents the Constitution and every citizen of the country.
Kharge tweeted on Monday that the Modi government is making President from the Dalit and tribal communities only for electoral reasons. He said that when the foundation stone of this new Parliament building was laid, President Ram Nath Kovind was not invited and now President Draupadi Murmu was not invited for the inauguration ceremony.
It may be mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new Parliament building built at a cost of around 1,200 crore rupees on May 28. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also objected to the inauguration proposed by PM Modi. Yesterday, Rahul Gandhi also tweeted that the new Parliament building should be inaugurated by the President, not the Prime Minister!
