Praveen Sood became the new director of CBI

New Delhi, May 14 (Hindustan Times). Karnataka Director General of Police Praveen Sood has been appointed as the next Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Sood’s tenure will be two years. He will succeed Subodh Jaiswal, who will complete his tenure on May 25.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and leader of the largest party in the Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary attended the high-powered committee meeting to select the new CBI director on Saturday. Three names were selected in the meeting and the names of the new Central Vigilance Commissioner and Member Ombudsman were also discussed.

The Appointments Committee of the Union Cabinet has approved the name of Praveen Sood. This information has been given in the order of the Union Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.
