Rajinikanth Meets Political Leaders and “Jailer” Film’s Success
Renowned actor Rajinikanth had significant interactions with political leaders in Uttar Pradesh recently. On Saturday, he met with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and on Sunday, he had a meeting with Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav in Lucknow. During his visit, Rajinikanth visited Akhilesh’s residence, and photos of their meeting were shared by Akhilesh on social media.
Rajinikanth’s latest film “Jailer” has been making waves at the box office, causing a sensation. The film’s earnings have broken records, surpassing those of previous films including “PS-II”. The success of “Jailer” has left Rajinikanth elated, though some of his fans appear to be disappointed due to a video in which he met with CM Yogi Adityanath and suggested watching the film. During this interaction, Rajinikanth even touched Yogi Adityanath’s feet.
While some users expressed dissatisfaction about Rajinikanth touching the feet of CM Yogi Adityanath, others defended the action, stating that it symbolized respect for a Hindu saint. The meeting was seen as a positive gesture toward interfaith harmony.
Rajinikanth expressed his happiness after meeting Akhilesh, stating, “I met Akhilesh Yadav nine years ago during an event in Mumbai. Since then, we have been friends and regularly talk on the phone. Five years ago, I came here for a shoot, but we couldn’t meet then. Now that he’s here, I met him.” When asked about his meeting with Yogi Adityanath, Rajinikanth responded positively, saying, “It was wonderful, I felt good.”
“Jailer” has once again proven Rajinikanth’s box office prowess. Released on August 10, a day before “Gadar,” the film had a spectacular start, with a worldwide collection exceeding 90 crores. Within the first weekend, the film grossed over 200 crores, making it the second-highest-grossing Indian film of 2023. Over the past 10 days, “Jailer” has set several box office records.
It’s worth noting that Rajinikanth’s previous films, such as “Petta,” “Darbar,” and “Annaatthe,” did not perform as well at the box office. Additionally, Rajinikanth had taken a two-year break from the film industry.
In conclusion, Rajinikanth’s recent meetings with political leaders and the extraordinary success of his film “Jailer” have captured attention in the media, showcasing his influence in both the entertainment and political realms.
