Varanasi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached his parliamentary constituency Varanasi on Sunday. Here PM Modi inaugurated the RJ Shankara Eye Hospital in Kashi. During this, Governor Anandi Ben Patel and CM Yogi were also present with him. PM Modi, who was on a visit to Varanasi, also laid the foundation stone of the new terminal building under the expansion of Babatpur Airport today. PM Modi gifted projects worth about Rs 6,100 crore to 5 states from Varanasi itself.
Today is an auspicious day for Kashi.
PM Modi said in Varanasi, ‘Today is a very auspicious day for Kashi. I have just come among you all after inaugurating a big eye hospital. The elderly and children are going to get a lot of help from RJ Shankar Eye Hospital. With the blessings of Baba, the foundation stone of projects worth thousands of crores of rupees has been laid and inaugurated here. In the last 10 years, we have started a very big campaign of infrastructure construction in the country and this infrastructure campaign has two biggest goals. The first goal is to increase the facilities of the citizens through investment and the second goal is to provide jobs to the youth through investment.’
Increase in the number of people coming to Banaras.
PM Modi further said, ‘Today modern highways are being built across the country. Railway tracks are being laid on new routes. New airports are being built. This is not just work of bricks and stones and iron rods, but it is also increasing the convenience of the people. The youth of the country are also getting jobs. Today the number of people coming to Banaras has increased rapidly. Some are coming for tourism, some are coming for business and you are benefiting from this, so when Babatpur airport expands further, you will benefit more. Today work has also started on this.’
The identity of Kashi is changing.
He said, ‘Today Kashi is known for the grand and divine Dham of Baba Vishwanath. Today Kashi is known as Rudraksh Convention Center. Today Kashi is known for ring road and infrastructure projects. Today facilities like ropeway are being built in Kashi. Earlier Kashi was left to its own devices. That is why today I am raising a question in front of every Kashi resident – what is that mentality due to which Kashi was deprived of development earlier? Remember the situation 10 years ago… Banaras was made to yearn for development. The answer to this is – politics of nepotism and appeasement. Be it Congress or Samajwadi Party… development of Banaras was neither a priority for such parties earlier, nor will it ever be in the future. These parties also discriminated in development.’
Our government is building 3 crore new houses.
Our government is now going to build 3 crore more houses. The women in Varanasi who have not received houses under PM Awas Yojana will also be given these houses as soon as possible. I have made a call from the Red Fort – I will bring one lakh such youth of the country into politics, whose family has nothing to do with politics. This is a campaign that will change the direction of Indian politics. This is a campaign to eradicate corruption and nepotism mentality.
