PM Farmer Saturation campaign to run from May 22 to June 10: Agriculture Minister

Lucknow, May 23 (Hindustan Times). As part of the door to door awareness campaign being conducted by the Agriculture Department regarding the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, a massive campaign for PM Farmer Saturation will be conducted from May 22 to June 10. The campaign is being run across the state and camps are being organized in around 5000 gram panchayats every day. Surya Pratap Shahi, Minister of Agriculture, Agricultural Education and Agricultural Research in the Government of Uttar Pradesh, gave this information on Tuesday.

The agriculture minister told reporters that along with the agriculture department, revenue secretary, panchayat secretary, post office representative, bank representative, common service center and village head will participate in the camp organized for the campaign. He informed that a mobile app has been prepared by the Government of India for e-KYC of farmers. With the help of which the farmers themselves will be able to do e-KYC through their own and other nearby farmers’ mobile phones, which is also being used in this campaign.

Surya Pratap Shahi said that for the purpose of increasing the income of farmers, under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, as financial assistance in the bank account of farmers, Rs. 2000 is planned to transfer a total of Rs 6000 per annum. The scheme was launched from December 2018. So far 2.63 crore farmers have been covered under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana in Uttar Pradesh, who have benefited by receiving at least one installment so far. A total of Rs 55,882 crore has been paid into farmers’ bank accounts by DBT since the inception of the scheme till April 2023.

Account details of 2.20 crore farmers have been verified by revenue officials and uploaded on PM Kisan portal. So far e-KYC of 1.84 lakh farmers has been completed. Aadhaar seeding of 2.19 crore farmers has been done with their bank accounts. Government of India has made it mandatory for E-KYC, Bhulekh marking and linking of Aadhaar with bank account of farmer for disbursement of 14th installment under the scheme.
