Share Market Closing 31st October 2024: On the occasion of Diwali, a big decline was seen in the Indian stock market. On Thursday, the stock market was under a lot of pressure due to heavy selling in the shares of the IT sector and banking sector. Today BSE Sensex closed at 79,389.06 points with a decline of 553.12 points and Nifty 50 closed at 24,205.35 points with a decline of 135.50 points.
The market was open in red mark
On Wednesday too, the stock market closed with a big decline. Yesterday and today also started with a decline. Yesterday, the BSE Sensex closed at 79,942.18 points with a decline of 426.85 points and the Nifty 50 also closed at 24,340.85 points with a decline of 126.00 points. After today, on the occasion of Diwali, both the major stock market exchanges opened with a decline.
Shares of only 4 Sensex companies remained in the green zone
Today, out of 30 Sensex companies, 25 shares closed in the red with a fall and 4 companies closed in the green with a rise. While one company’s share closed without any change. Similarly, out of 50 Nifty 50 companies, 34 shares closed in the red with a loss and the remaining 16 companies closed in the green with a rise.
Larsen & Toubro shares rose the most.
Among the Sensex companies, Larsen & Toubro’s shares recorded the highest increase of 6.38 percent today. Powergrid’s shares closed with a gain of 0.86 percent, JSW’s shares closed with a gain of 0.76 percent and Mahindra & Mahindra’s shares closed with a gain of 0.71 percent. While HDFC Bank’s shares closed without any change today.
Huge fall in IT sector stocks
On the other hand, Tech Mahindra shares closed with a maximum decline of 4.54 percent today. Shares of HCL Tech closed with a decline of 3.89 percent, TCS 2.80 percent, Infosys 2.48 percent, Asian Paints 1.97 percent, Maruti Suzuki 1.59 percent, ICICI Bank 1.57 percent, Adani Ports 1.45 percent, Bharti Airtel 1.34 percent, Axis Bank 1.20, Titan 1.16 percent, Hindustan Unilever 1.07 percent, Bajaj Finance shares closed with a decline of 1.00 percent.
Apart from these, shares of Reliance Industries, Tata Motors, ITC, UltraTech Cement, Nestle India, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Bajaj Finserv, State Bank of India, Tata Steel, Sun Pharma, IndusInd Bank and NTPC also closed in the red with losses.
