Pakistan heading towards destruction, situation like East Pakistan has arisen: Imran

[ad_1]

Lahore: ‘Pakistan is now moving towards destruction, there is every possibility of its disintegration. Giving such a warning, former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan accused the (current government) of deploying the army against the workers of his party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

In a video message issued from his Jamaat Park residence, Imran Khan said early elections were the only way to end the political instability prevailing in the country. Otherwise, the condition of the country will become like that of East Pakistan. (The country will break into pieces.)

He said that the leader of PDM (Pakistan Democratic Movement) and Nawaz Sharif, who fled to London, does not care about the citizenship of the country. It doesn’t matter to them whether the constitution of the country is defamed or the institutions of the country are destroyed or the Pakistan Army is defamed. They are worried about the safety of their looted goods and the protection of their interests. So I am seeing a nightmare in which the country is on the brink of immediate disintegration, so I request the authorities to hold elections and save the country.

Significantly, at present the police have surrounded Imran Khan’s residence.

About his arrest from the premises of the Islamabad High Court on 9 May, he said: ‘It was a pure conspiracy by the country’s ruling coalition and the Punjab government.’ Along with this, he warned in an interview to Pakistan’s famous daily ‘The Dawn’, ‘Now the time has come for the authorities to reconsider it. Otherwise, the condition of a country like East-Pakistan will happen. He further said, ‘When I criticize the army, I say it as if I am scolding my children. I have said many times that I do not get into the internal affairs of the institutions of the country. I didn’t intervene (in the system) even when I got solid information that the former army chief was plotting against me.

Rejecting the government’s allegation that 40 terrorists are hiding in his residence, he said that the government can legally investigate my residence. For which he should duly obtain a ‘search warrant’. Hey! If I keep terrorists then my life will be in danger. The government should not fall on the country’s largest party (PTI) on this pretext. However, it is also true that the riots that broke out after Imran’s arrest have not ended yet.
