Pakistan furious over G-20 meeting in Kashmir, Bilawal Bhatto leaves for PoK tour

[ad_1]

Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Sunday began his 3-day long visit to Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) where he will also address the people living in the region. Bilawal’s visit to PoK comes at a time when India is under tight security since Monday. (May 22) Jammu and Kashmir will host the 3rd G20 Tourism Working Group meeting. The third G20 Tourism Working Group meeting under the chairmanship of India is being held in Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, from May 22-24.

Pakistan has repeatedly expressed strong displeasure over New Delhi’s intention to hold the G-20 Tourism Working Group conference in Kashmir. Islamabad had recently termed India’s decision to host the G20 meeting in Srinagar and parts of Kashmir as an ‘irresponsible move’.

India rejects Pakistan’s criticism

However, India rejected Pakistan’s criticism outright. Arindam Bagchi, the official spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), said during the briefing that the G20 meetings are being held in all cities and parts of India. So it is natural to have meetings in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh as they are an integral part of India. India has chosen Srinagar as the venue for the G20 Tourism Working Group meeting to be held from May 22 to 24.

India continues to raise the issue of terrorism on the border

Relations between India and Pakistan have been strained for a long time. New Delhi has repeatedly raised the issue of Pakistan’s continued support for cross-border terrorism and terrorist infiltration. It is said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have been bearing the brunt of this terror campaign for decades and are still suffering.

Let us tell you that Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had recently come to India for the meeting of Foreign Ministers of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Goa in May.
