Pune: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday said that India will become a developed country by 2047 amid growing cyber threats in the defense sector. The Defense Minister said this while addressing a gathering.
Rajnath Singh said at the convocation ceremony of Defense Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT) in Maharashtra’s Pune district that the country is now becoming self-reliant and according to economic experts, India will reach the third position in the world economy by 2027.
Advances in technology
Rajnath Singh said, “The world is changing fast. Defense sector is also changing, as we can see many technological changes in this sector. Many problems have arisen in the field of defense, especially threats have arisen in cyberspace.
He said, “However, with changing circumstances, we have to move towards advancement in the field of technology. If there is a challenge, there is also a solution. Efforts should now be made to advance the technology.”
By 2047, India will become a huge nation will happen
Stressing on self-reliance, the defense minister said, “This does not mean that we are isolated from other countries, but the objective is that the basic needs are produced by us and we can export them.” India will also help in job creation.” He said, “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, our vision is that India will become a developed country in the world by 2047.”

Rajnath Singh said, “We are seeing an increase in exports of defense equipment. In 2014, the export in this sector was Rs. 900 crore, but now it has increased to Rs. 16,000 crores. Imports have declined, as India is now the world’s largest hub. UP is starting and we are coming up with new ideas.

The Union Minister said that rifles, missiles and airplanes are being made in India. India is now becoming a self-reliant country. The minister said that India’s potential to become the world’s top economy cannot be ruled out. Economic experts say that by 2027, India will reach the third position in the world economy. Addressing the gathering, Singh said that he was proud to attend the 12th convocation of DIAT. “Since its inception, the organization has done a wonderful job and today I can see the future of my country,” he said.
