Lucknow Minister of State for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities and Welfare of Backward Classes (Independent Charge) Narendra Kashyap said that 100 per cent benefit of the scholarship scheme should go to deserving students from backward classes. There should not be any carelessness or negligence in this. Eligible students should be processed for timely disbursement of grants related to the schemes to their accounts.
He was holding a departmental review meeting at his office in the Assembly on Tuesday. He said that officers should work for the welfare of the disabled and backward class people. He said that the state government is working for the welfare of disabled and backward classes, which should be done with interest.
Minister Narendra Kashyap asked the officials to think positively and take their problems sensitively for the upliftment of disabled and backward class people and bring them into the mainstream of society.
He said that more and more deserving students should be benefited under the scholarship scheme run for the welfare of backward classes. He has instructed to repair the managed hostels, so that the students living in them do not face any kind of inconvenience.
He said that the computer training program for the backward class students for the financial year 2023-24 should be completed as per the fixed schedule, so that the students could start the computer training on time.
It was informed in the meeting that the work of Aadhaar seeding of the disabled has been completed. He directed that state funds be used for the disabled. The works of Dr. Shakuntala Rehabilitation University established for the differently abled were reviewed. It was directed that the disabled should get the benefit of the schemes run by the state government in the university.
Additional Chief Secretary Divyangjan Empowerment and Backward Classes Welfare Hemant Rao and concerned officials including Backward Classes Welfare Director Vandana Verma and Commissioner Divyangjan Ajit Kumar were present in the meeting.
