Ujjain: Ganga Dussehra festival is being celebrated with devotion on Tuesday. More than 80 artists have been dancing continuously for 18 hours at the Jyotirlinga Mahakala temple, while the saints and sages of Panchadasanam Juna Akhara took a royal bath in the Nilganga lake. Sri Shipra Tirtha Parikrama will conclude in the evening. In the evening, Mokshadayini Shipra will be draped with a 400 meter long chunri. After this there will be Maha Aarti of Shipra Ganga Mata.
For the last 35 years, artists of Rasraj Prabhat Nritya Sansthan have been paying homage to Nataraj Baba Mahakal on Ganga Dussehra at the Jyotirlinga Mahakal temple. This time also the dance has started with Bhasma Aarti and more than 80 artists will perform dance for 18 hours continuously till Shayan Aarti. Accompanist artist Harsh Yadav will play tabla, Manas Sharma will play harmonium and Srishti will sing. Barwah’s Sanjay Mahajan will also perform with his group. Dancer Mrinanili Chauhan and fellow artist Shiv Vandana will perform.
A grand celebration was organized at Nilganga Ghat on the occasion of Ganga Dussehra by Sri Panchadasanam Juna Akhara. At 6.30 in the morning, the procession of saints and sages took place on the lines of the throne. At the end at seven o’clock in the morning, the saints and sages took a royal bath in the Nilganga lake. A 108 feet chunri will be dedicated to Nilganga at 7 pm. A grand fireworks display will be held after the Mahaarti. Ganga Stuti will be performed by the girls of Ninad Dance Academy in the cultural evening. A music team from Indore will perform Shiva Stuti. Finally Bhandara Mahaprasadi will be organized.
