Singer Kumar Shanu recently talked about the Bollywood industry. He said that all singers are very successful in the Hindi film industry. But the lead actors are lacking. Shanu said ‘Now the actors will decide who will sing the song in the film or who will be the playback singer?’ Talking about the problems going on in the industry, Sanu said that he is tired of such things. In an interview, Kumar Shanu was asked if he wants to fix something in the functioning of the industry. On this he said, ‘There is a lack of good compositions, songs and good actors in the industry. Singers are talented in the industry, but their talent is not being used properly. Our generation was lucky that we had everything. If our music directors today pay more attention to Indian music culture instead of paying less attention to ancient styles then we can improve ourselves. Power should always be in the hands of the right people. Today artists are deciding which singer will sing playback for them and we should get rid of this kind of interference.’
He further said, ‘Today music has become secondary, whereas once it was paramount. Nowadays filmmakers are so confident about making films that sometimes they don’t even think about making good songs. This is the reason why our industry is troubled.
