Police said that Nitesh Pandey was staying at Hotel Dew Drop in Igatpuri. He used to come and go there often. According to the information, Nitesh Pandey also ordered food in the hotel room in the evening. According to the police, Nitesh Pandey had checked in at Hotel Dew Drop on May 23.

According to the police, he was alone in the hotel. Nitesh Pandey used to come and go in this hotel for a long time. He used to come here and write stories. He used to come to this hotel to avoid any kind of disturbance while writing the article.

Police said that on the evening of May 23, Nitesh Pandey went to the restaurant of the hotel and ordered food for himself. Nitesh Pandey asked the hotel staff to send food to his room till half past ten at night. According to the police, the hotel staff arrived with food and when they rang the doorbell, there was no response from inside. Nitesh Pandey did not open the door despite the hotel staff calling him several times.

Inspector Raju Surve of Igatpuri police station said that when Nitesh Pandey did not open the door for a long time and did not respond from inside, the hotel staff opened his room with the master key. On opening the room, Nitesh Pandey was lying unconscious on the bed. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

According to the police, the preliminary post-mortem report revealed that Nitesh Pandey died of cardiac arrest. A case of accidental death has been registered in the Igatpuri police station of Nashik rural and the case is being investigated.

The police said they have questioned Nitesh Pandey’s family members and some close friends as well as hotel staff. However, even after enquiry, no problem or doubt came to light. Let us tell you that Nitesh Pandey’s body was taken to Nashik for postmortem. From there Nitesh’s body was brought to his home in Mumbai.

Nitesh Pandey was cremated on May 24 at the Mukti Dham Crematorium near Aarey Colony in Goregaon East. Many friends, relatives and people from the industry reached Nitesh Pandey’s house to pay his last farewell. Everyone became very emotional.
