Srinagar, May 15 (Hindustan). The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday raided 13 locations linked to terrorist organizations and their offshoots in the Kashmir Valley. NIA conducted raids in Anantnag, Srinagar, Pulwama, Shopian and Budgam districts of Kashmir and seized incriminating materials, documents.
An official said the NIA has arrested sympathizers belonging to newly formed branches and affiliates of several banned Pakistan-backed terrorist outfits, including Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed, Hizbul-Mujahideen, Al-Badr, Al-Badr. . -Law and others. , conducted an extensive search at thirteen locations of hybrid terrorists and overground workers (OGWs).
The official said that the raid was part of an ongoing investigation by the NIA into a terror conspiracy case involving the Resistance Front (TRF), United Liberation Front Jammu and Kashmir, Mujahideen Ghazwat-ul-Hind, Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Fighters, Kashmir Tigers, PAF etc. Activities of OGWs and cadres were included in support of various newly started organizations.
Apart from terrorist and violent activities, these cadres and OGWs were found to be involved in collecting and distributing sticky bombs, IEDs, money, narcotics and arms, ammunition.
The NIA investigation revealed that Pakistan-based operatives were involved in delivering arms, explosives and narcotics through drones to these cadres and OGWs in the Kashmir Valley.
The official said social media platforms are being used extensively by cross-border operatives to connect with OGWs and cadres in Kashmir.
The NIA registered the case on 21 June 2022. The case was registered on the basis of information regarding the conspiracies and plans hatched by these accused terrorist organizations. The purpose of the conspirators was to radicalize local youth to carry out acts of terrorism and violence and mobilize and deploy underground activists as part of a larger conspiracy to carry out violent terrorist attacks with sticky bombs, IEDs and small arms etc. in Jammu and Kashmir. In such a situation, NIA has conducted 70 search operations in this case so far.
