New Parliament House inaugurated tomorrow, all Delhi borders sealed, traffic advisory issued

The new Parliament building will be inaugurated tomorrow. Due to opposition parties’ protests over the inauguration of the new Parliament building, the Delhi Police has gone into alert mode. The security arrangements for the opening ceremony will remain the same as on January 26 and August 15. All borders of Delhi will be sealed from the morning of May 28. No vehicle except essential vehicles will be allowed to enter Delhi.

A senior Delhi Police official said that concrete plans are being prepared for the security of the event. Police are holding regular meetings with Home Ministry officials. The police have requested the home ministry for more companies of paramilitary forces. All the neighboring states have been asked to stop the vehicles in front of the borders of Delhi, so that there is no problem like traffic jam. Apart from this, people will be appealed to cooperate in the security system through social media.

A new parliament building will be built

Delhi Traffic Police officials have made elaborate arrangements for smooth flow of traffic. Police have advised people to stay away from the New Delhi area unless absolutely necessary. However, traffic will continue in New Delhi. Some roads will be affected or traffic will be heavy from 5.30 am to 3 pm due to inauguration of Parliament House. Several VVIPs/VIPs and other dignitaries are likely to attend the inauguration programme.

 

Mother Teresa Sarasant Road Golchakkar (R/A), Talkatora, Baba Kharak Singh Marg, R/A Gol Dak Khana, Ashoka Road, R/A Patel Chowk, Ashoka Road, R/A Windsor Place, Janpath, R/A MLNP The Cordoned area, Akbar Road, R/A Gol Methi, Akbar Road, R/A GKP, Tin Murthy Marg, R/A Tin Murthy and Mother Teresa Crescent Road will be treated as regular areas.

Only public transport vehicles, civil service candidates, bonafide residents, labeled vehicles and emergency vehicles will be allowed inside the zone. The general public and motorists are advised to be patient. Traffic personnel posted at the intersection have been instructed to follow traffic rules and road discipline. It is advised to stay updated through Delhi Traffic Police Facebook page, Twitter handle, website and helpline.
