Mukhtar Ansari acquitted in attempted murder case

Ghazipur: The court of Additional Sessions Judge MP-MLA of the district on Wednesday acquitted former MLA Mukhtar Ansari in the attempt to kill the famous Mir Hasan.

It may be noted that on 24 November 2009, Mir Hassan, a resident of Malikpura village of Mohammadabad police station, was walking on the road near his house in the morning. Hence the two miscreants who had a club in their hands, started firing with the intention of killing by swearing. The bullet ricocheted off the side of his temple. A miscreant named Sonu Yadav. While identifying himself, he threatened to go to jail and meet Mukhtar Ansari in two days, otherwise he would kill the entire family.

Based on the information, the police registered a case and after deliberation filed a charge sheet against accused Sonu Yadav and Mukhtar Ansari. During the trial, Special Public Prosecutor Neeraj Srivastava produced a total of four witnesses on behalf of the prosecution. All recorded their statements in court. After hearing the arguments of both sides, the court acquitted the accused Mukhtar Ansari by giving benefit of doubt. Mukhtar Ansari was present through video conferencing at the time of the verdict.
