Varanasi, May 14 (Hindustan Times). On the occasion of Mother’s Day, a lamp was lit at Dasashwamedh Ghat after worship and aarti of Mother Ganga on Sunday evening. Under the auspices of the ‘Agaman Social Institution’, prayers were offered to Mother Ganga for the protection of the mother and for the protection of the little nymphs growing in the womb.

Thousands of devotees from home and abroad at the ghat and residents of Kashi took an oath of non-feticide with lamps in hand before the Ganga Aarti. Along with this, people promised to stop others from doing the same. Secretary of the organization Dr. Santosh Ojha said that today we have worshiped for the safety of daughters growing up in the wombs of pregnant mothers.

It is often seen that narrow-minded people identify daughters in the womb and kill them in lust for sons. May Mother Ganga and Baba Vishwanath give wisdom to such people. That is why this special pooja has been organized. In this special ceremony Dr. Rajiv Srivastava of Vishal Bharat Sanstha, Ganga Mahasabha Pt. Govind Sharma and Gangotri Seva Samiti Pt. Dinesh Shankar Dubey administered oath to all the devotees. Apart from this, Pandit Kishori Raman Dubey, Dinesh Shankar Dubey, Dr. Girish Tiwari, Tapas Das, Shubham Seth, Ranjit Gupta etc. also participated in this program.
