Morena: SDM office besieged in protest against shifting of polling stations

Morena, May 25 (Hindustan Times). Congress and general public are vehemently opposing the change of polling station in 10 booths of Jaura Assembly and in this series of agitations led by Congress candidate of Jaura Assembly Pankaj Upadhyay and block president Manoj Singh Sikarwar on Thursday afternoon. Voters from around 10 polling stations of Jaura assembly reached the Jaura sub-divisional office to surround the SDM. He alleged that the action to change 10 polling booths was carried out in a conspiracy. Pankaj Upadhyaya, the Congress candidate from Jaura Assembly, was leading the general public.

Upadhyay alleged that the action of changing the polling center was done so that people could not cast their votes. Villagers hailing from Kalakhet, Mara, Dhorera, Chanchul, Rakaira villages said that 288 Primary School Building to Kanhar Converted Polling Station 287 Secondary School Building is about 8 km from Kalakhet (present polling station). Converted Polling Station Swaraj Bhavan Khadaria Pura Polling Station 285 Primary School Building Mara (Present Polling Station) is located at a distance of about 14 km. Similarly, there are many discrepancies at other polling stations.

City District Congress Committee president Deepak Sharma, who is presiding over the programme, warned in a tone that if it is not improved, the results will not be right. After the meeting, the villagers and Congressmen gave the petition to the SDM. The SDM assured the villagers that the process of changing polling stations would be done as per the rules and regulations of the Election Commission.

A large number of activists and common people including Santosh Solanki, Babulal Jatav were present.
