Moradabad: The oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected mayor and 70 councilors of Moradabad was held at the Panchayat Bhavan auditorium on Friday. 67 councilors took oath in the oath taking ceremony along with Mayor Vinod Agarwal, three councilors could not take oath due to late arrival.

First, Divisional Commissioner Anjaniya Kumar Singh administered the oath to elected Mayor Vinod Agarwal on the Bharatiya Janata Party symbol. After this the mayor administered the oath to the councilors one by one.

Addressing the swearing-in ceremony, Chief Guest BJP State President Chaudhary Bhupendra Singh said that BJP has a double engine government at the Center and the state. In such a situation, the candidate Vinod Agarwal has won the seat of the mayor and formed a government with a triple engine. The development of Moradabad metropolis will get more momentum.

In-charge minister Jitin Prasad said that Mayor Vinod Agarwal will have to take all the 70 ward councilors together to show unity. Vinod Agarwal has become the mayor for the third time in a row. He is responsible for quadrupling the pace of development in Smart City Moradabad compared to his previous tenure.

Officer, various police-administrative officials and BJP leaders were present.
