Modi-Biden’s old friendship seen in G-7, hugged each other before meeting

US President Joe Biden met Prime Minister Narendra Modi before the start of the G-7 meeting in Hiroshima city of Japan. Meanwhile, he went to meet Modi at his seat among the world leaders and hugged him. Both the leaders will attend the meeting of the Quad countries after some time. The last meeting between the two leaders was six months ago on the sidelines of the G-20 summit in Bali, Indonesia.

Along with this, the meeting of the Quad countries created to compete with China in the Indo-Pacific will also be held in Hiroshima city. The meeting to be held in the Australian city of Sydney was canceled two days ago due to the ongoing debt problem in the US. Apart from India, America, Japan and Australia are members of this group.

 

Earlier, Prime Minister Modi met Japanese PM Fumio Kishida. Bilateral talks were also held between the two leaders. Modi said he had a wonderful conversation with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. We emphasized on further improving India-Japan relations. Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Hiroshima. Modi said, ‘Even today the world gets scared on hearing the word ‘Hiroshima’.
