MI vs LSG: Akash Madhwal’s five wickets, Mumbai win by 81 runs, Lucknow trip over

Chennai: With the help of Akash Madhwal’s deadly bowling and Suryakumar Yadav and Cameron Green’s brilliant partnership, Mumbai Indians defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 81 runs in the Eliminator match and entered Qualifier-2. With this defeat, Lucknow’s journey in IPL-2023 ended, while Mumbai Indians will face Gujarat Titans in Qualifier-2 match in Ahmedabad on Friday. Batting first after winning the toss, Mumbai scored 182 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs, in response to which Lucknow team was dismissed for 101 runs in 16.3 overs.

Now in Qualifier-2 clash between Gujarat and Mumbai
Mumbai Indians have entered Qualifier-2 by defeating Lucknow Supergiants. Now at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the battle to get the final ticket will be played between Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians on Friday. Hardik Pandya and Rohit’s team will try to win this match to make a place in the final to be played on Sunday.

The thrill of Mumbai’s innings
Mumbai batted first after winning the toss and got the first blow for 30 runs. Captain Rohit Sharma became the victim of Naveen-ul-Haq after scoring 11 runs. So Yash Thakur sent Ishan Kishan (15) to the pavilion. For Mumbai, Cameron Green scored the highest 41 runs in 23 balls with the help of six fours and a six. Suryakumar Yadav scored 33 runs in 20 balls with the help of two fours and two sixes.

Tilak Verma got out after scoring 26 runs in 22 balls with the help of 2 sixes. Tim David scored 13 runs and Nehal Wadhera scored 22 runs in 12 balls. Naveen-ul-Haq took four wickets for 38 runs from Lucknow. Apart from this, Yash Thakur got three hits and Mohsin Khan got one hit.

Poor start of Lucknow
Chasing the target set by Mumbai, Lucknow Supergiants lost the wicket of Prarak Mankad (3) in the second over itself. Then Kyle Meyers became the victim of Chris Jordan after scoring 18 runs. Krunal Pandya got out after scoring 8 runs.

Marcus Stoinis scored the maximum 40 runs from Lucknow. Stoinis hit five fours and a six in his 27-ball innings. Nicole Pooran got out after scoring 0 runs. Deepak Hooda was run out after scoring 15 runs. Krishnappa Gautam contributed two runs.

For Mumbai, Akash Madhwal took five wickets for five runs in 3.3 overs. Apart from this, Jordan and Piyush Chawla got one success each.
