After a huge gain in the previous session, the Indian stock market opened flat on Friday, the week’s last trading day. A decline was also seen in the market in the initial trade. The Bombay Stock Exchange index Sensex was seen trading at 82,653, down by 0.32 percent i.e. 262 points. In the initial trade, out of the 30 Sensex stocks, 21 stocks were seen in the red and 9 in the green. Whereas, the National Stock Exchange index Nifty was seen trading at 25,324, down by 0.25 percent i.e. 64 points in the early trade. Out of the 50 Nifty stocks, 16 were in the green and 34 were in the red in the early trade.

Talking about the stocks of the Nifty pack, the biggest losers in the early trade were Asian Paints by 1.72%, Divis Lab by 1.30%, ITC by 0.78%, Bajaj Finance by 0.76% and Hindustan Unilever by 0.76%. On the other hand, the biggest gainers were JSW Steel at 1.24%, Tata Steel at 1.21%, Tata Motors at 1.17%, Hindalco at 1.03% and Nestle India at 0.84%.
Status of sectoral indices
Talking about sectoral indices, the highest gain in early trade was recorded in Nifty Metal at 1.22 percent. Apart from this, Nifty Media rose by 1.06 percent, Nifty PSU Bank by 0.43 percent, Nifty Realty by 0.77 percent, Nifty Consumer Durables by 0.33 percent and Nifty Oil and Gas by 0.01 percent. Apart from this, Nifty Midsmall Healthcare fell by 0.01 percent, Nifty Healthcare Index by 0.48 percent, Nifty Private Bank by 0.05 percent, Nifty Pharma by 0.27 percent, Nifty IT by 0.27 percent, Nifty FMCG by 0.65 percent, Nifty Auto by 0.04 percent and Nifty Bank by 0.10 percent.
