Mumbai: Mango prices have been higher than last year due to heavy damage to the mango crop this time due to unseasonal rains. But surprisingly mangoes are sold at cheaper prices than lemons in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad). So the lovers have enjoyed a lot by eating mangoes.
In the Aurangabad market, lemons are currently being sold at Rs 80 per kg, while mangoes are priced at Rs 50 per kg. That is why the people of Aurangabad eat an average of twenty five tons of mangoes every day.
Fruit market traders said that Aurangabad has started receiving mangoes in abundance from Gujarat, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh citing the cheapness of mangoes. Many mangoes have been sold in the market from Khatara. That is why mangoes are sold at a cheaper price than lemons.
