Kolkata, May 23 (Hindustan Times). Trinamool Congress MLA and former minister Madan Mitra, who accused Dalal Raj of not admitting accident-injured youths, has died at Kolkata’s government-run SSKM Hospital. His name is Subhdeep Pal. He was admitted to Kolkata Medical College Hospital where he breathed his last. Kamarhati MLA Madan Mitra has expressed grief after the death of the youth.
According to the information received, he was also a health worker and worked as a lab technician in a hospital. Madan Mitra himself came to SSKM Hospital’s trauma care unit to admit him after he was critically injured in an accident on Friday night but returned saying that the beds were not available. He himself tried to talk to the medical officer but to no avail after which he accused Dalal Raj at the hospital. Madan Mitra also called Minister of State for Health Chandrima Bhattacharya seeking help, but got no help. After this, he said that in the CPI(M) era, patients were admitted to the hospital within a minute, but now there is a broker’s rule. He was then admitted to the Medical College Hospital where he was undergoing treatment. But he has died.
