LUCKNOW: The ten-day annual training naval camp concluded

Lucknow, May 21 (Hindustan Times). The 10-day annual training camp of the Naval National Cadet Corps (NCC) concluded with a spectacular performance during the campfire at La-Martiniere College on May 20.

The cadets welcomed the Chief Guest, Carlyle McFarland, Principal La-Martinière College and Captain (Indian Navy) Navendu Saxena, Commanding Officer and Camp Commandant with an impressive semaphore display. Which is a messaging system using flags in the Navy. A daring horsemanship display, a Marine commando drill, a pantomime based on warrior marines and a band performance were notable performances.

During his address, Mr. McFarland congratulated Chief Naval Instructor, Petty Officer Krishna Tiwari and his team for imparting high standard naval training to NCC cadets and instilling in them a sense of responsibility, pride and positivity.

He also said that uniform uniforms and drills for NCC cadets from different backgrounds help inculcate values ​​of unity and discipline among them.

Later, during the award ceremony held at Spence Hall, Captain Navendra Saxena distributed the prizes to the cadets. He expressed special thanks to Principal Lemart for providing college campus and sports facilities for the camp.

During the camp, 331 cadets, boys and girls from 14 schools and colleges in Lucknow successfully completed the mandatory training for A, B and C certificates. One of the aims of the camp was to acquaint the cadets with the challenging life of naval personnel at sea, besides teaching them naval activities such as boat pulling, seamanship, drill, swimming, firing, weapon handling, parade training and ship modelling.

In-charge of the training, Petty Officer Komal Singh told the media that the cadets showed great enthusiasm and courage during the grueling training. He also informed that Naval team members Sandeep Pal, Ajay Maurya, Ashutosh Singh, Ajit Yadav, Atul Gupta, Satish Kumar and Saras Dwivedi worked day and night with the cadets to ensure safe and efficient conduct of all activities.

Principal Assistants Manoj Shah, Nagesh Dwivedi and Vinu Singh efficiently completed all administrative, documentation and accounting work. Sub Lt Pranav Mishra and other assistant NCC officers Joseph Masih, Vimlesh Gupta and Devendra Singh contributed significantly in the orientation and training of the cadets. The Camp Commandant appreciated the role played by all ANOs in guiding the young cadets and developing them into responsible citizens of the future.
