Provider BSNL will set up the 4G network across the country. The IT company said in a regulatory filing that it has received orders worth Rs 15,000 crore. As part of the consortium, Tata Group subsidiary Tejas Networks will supply and service the Radio Access Network equipment (RAN). Tejas Networks is part of the TCS-led consortium that won the successful bid to set up the 4G network for BSNL. BSNL has issued Advance Purchase Order (APO) to TCS. APO has also been issued to ITI for this project. As part of the consortium, Tejas Networks will provide Radio Access Network equipment.

RAN facilitates the separation of network equipment components. Because of this, a telecommunications company can outsource hardware and software from various vendors. TCS has also partnered with Center for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) for this deal. BSNL will use the indigenously developed 4G core by C-DOT. Core end-users are critical to building a network with reliable, secure connectivity.
