Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju has been removed from his post. Arjun Ram Meghwal will take over the new responsibility in his place. On the advice of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Draupadi Murmu has approved the reshuffle in the cabinet. After being released from the Law Ministry, Kiren Rijiju will now hold the Ministry of Earth Sciences.
A notification issued by Rashtrapati Bhawan said that Meghwal has been given independent charge. Rijiju has been given charge of the Ministry of Earth Sciences. Meghwal has been given independent charge as Minister of State in the Ministry of Law and Justice in addition to his current portfolio. Earlier, Union Minister Jitendra Singh was in charge of the Ministry of Earth Sciences. Meghwal is currently Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Minister of State for Culture.
Kindly inform that Kiren Rijiju assumed charge as Minister of Law and Justice on 8th July, 2021. Earlier, he served as Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports from May 2019 to July 2021. Kiren Rijiju will now hold the portfolio of Ministry of Earth Sciences.
Rijiju has been in the news for his comments on sitting and retired judges. He also said about the collegium that no one can warn anyone in the country. Everyone in the country works according to the constitution. He also made a statement about retired judges. Said- Some retired judges have become part of anti-India groups.
