Karnataka Assembly Elections 2023: Three days have passed since the Karnataka election results, but the Congress party is yet to name the chief minister. This exercise to select the chief minister has brought many leaders from Bengaluru to Delhi. Two names are running ahead in the race for the post of Chief Minister. One is Congress Party’s Karnataka State President DK Shivakumar and the other is former CM Siddaramaiah. In such a situation, an important meeting of party leaders is going on at the house of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge.

According to the sources, the top leaders of the party have different views regarding the selection of these two leaders. If sources are to be believed, Rahul Gandhi and KC Venugopal have supported Siddaramaiah. While Sonia Gandhi’s first choice is DK Shivakumar. So party president Mallikarjun Kharge has not reached a single decision. He will decide the name of one only after talking to all the leaders.

Most MLAs are with Siddaramaiah

Senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi has good relations with DK Shivakumar. While most MLAs of the state are believed to be with Siddaramaiah. Apart from this, Randeep Surjewala is also neutral about both the leaders.

Khadge plans to meet both the leaders separately. Meanwhile, party president Khadge has given time to meet both the leaders separately. Siddaramaiah has been given a time slot of 6 pm, while DK Sivakumar has been called for a meeting at 5 pm.

‘We voted Siddaramaiah to Congress’

It is worth mentioning that the Karnataka Pradesh Kuruba Sangh has demanded to make Siddaramaiah the CM. Kurba Sangh says that it can help and uplift all backward class people. The organization also said that they voted for the Congress only because of Siddaramaiah’s leadership. However the Kurba Sangh has also worked hard for DK Sivakumar’s efforts. Siddaramaiah also belongs to the Kuruba community.

Only time will tell who will be crowned Chief Minister, but the current situation is that there are many differences in the Congress Movdimandal over Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar.
