Jalandhar bypoll results: AAP’s lead continues, candidate Sushil Rinku ahead by 28,214 votes

The counting of votes for the Jalandhar Lok Sabha by-election is going on from 8 am. During the counting of votes, the lead of Aam Aadmi Party candidate Sushil Rinku is continuously increasing. Presently he is leading from Congress by 28214 votes.

In this seat, AAP is continuously ahead of Congress. Your lead has been intact since the beginning. So far 415093 votes have been counted. In view of this, AAP workers have started preparations for the celebration. Slogans of ‘AAP’ Zindabad’ are being heard outside the counting center. AAP’s election in-charge finance minister Harpal Cheema has left for Jalandhar from Chandigarh.

Apart from this, Gurjant Singh of Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar got 9939 votes against 3240 votes and popular candidate Neetu Shatruwala got 2115 votes. MLA Vikramjit Chowdhary, son of Congress candidate Karamjit Kaur Chowdhary, said that last time also there was a tough fight but Congress won. We are still hopeful that Congress can win.

Earlier, after voting, all EVMs and VVPAT machines were kept in the strong room where three-wheeler security arrangements were made around them. Paramilitary personnel have been deployed along with the Punjab Police to ensure that there is no disturbance during the counting of votes.

 

Let us tell you that there is a four-cornered contest on the Jalandhar Lok Sabha seat. In this, Sushil Rinku from Aam Aadmi Party, Karamjit Kaur Chaudhary from Congress, Inder Iqbal Singh Atwal from BJP and Dr. from Akali and BSP alliance. Sukhwinder Sukhi is included. Sushil Rinku has been an MLA from the Congress, AAP had given him a ticket by bringing him into the party. Congress’s Karamjit Kaur Chowdhary is the wife of Santokh Singh Chowdhary, who was elected MP from this seat twice. Inder Iqbal Atwali has been an MLA from Akali Dal, he was given ticket by BJP after joining the party. Akali candidate Sukhwinder Sukhi is Akali MLA from Banga. A total of 19 candidates have contested on this seat.
