Jagdalpur, May 18 (Hindustan Times). Motilal Nehru ward BJP councilor Alok Awasthi has demanded the removal of encroached gardens by the forest department on the busiest Maharani Hospital Road. A memorandum has been submitted to Municipal Corporation Commissioner KS Paikra to take immediate action in this regard on Thursday.
BJP corporator Alok Awasthi said that the forest department encroached and built a garden in front of his own office on the busy Maharani Hospital road two years ago. It was also opposed during construction. An illegal garden is created on a busy road divided by a divider near Sanjay Market Chowk, affecting traffic and enclosing a large drain. Due to which both drainage and cleaning are badly obstructed. Illegal plantations lead to unpleasant waterlogging during the rainy season. Due to this reason in Nayapara area, due to lack of drainage, rainwater fills the road. Awasthi said, it would have been better if the forest department had constructed it in its spacious office space instead of encroaching on the road.
