Iran halts border traffic after Taliban firing

[ad_1]

Tehran, May 28 (HS). Iran has currently stopped traffic on its border with Afghanistan. This decision has been taken because of the unprovoked firing by the security forces of the Taliban regime of Afghanistan. Meanwhile, three soldiers were claimed killed in several hours of fierce firing between the two countries on Saturday over the water dispute.

Iran’s Deputy Police Chief General Qasim Rezaei has said that the firing on the border was initiated by the Taliban for no reason. Taliban security forces have opened fierce fire on the border of Iran’s Sistan and Baluchistan provinces. These provinces border the Nimroz province of Afghanistan.

In some media reports, a large number of security forces personnel have been killed and injured in this firing. Some news media have reported the death of three soldiers of Iran’s Border Security Force in this firing. On the other hand, Afghan Interior Ministry spokesman Abdul Nafi Takor accused Iranian forces of starting the first firing. Thakur has said that now the situation on the border is under control.
