New Delhi: Mumbai Indians entered Qualifier-2 after defeating Lucknow Supergiants in Chennai on Wednesday night. Mumbai registered an 81-run win over Krunal Pandya’s team. Mumbai set a target of 182 runs in front of the Lucknow team.

Surprised to see Akash’s talent

In such a situation, Indian fast bowler Akash Madhwal broke this record by taking 5 wickets for 5 runs in 3.3 overs. Akash surprised everyone with his bowling prowess and wreaked havoc on Lucknow’s batting line-up. Lucknow’s team got all out for 101 runs.

Amazing bowling in the sky

In 2022, Madhwal was included in the team in place of Suryakumar Yadav, but he was not given a place in the playing eleven. Madhwal made his debut in IPL 2023. The fast bowler has taken 13 wickets in seven matches and it was a do-or-die match for Mumbai on Wednesday where Akash performed brilliantly.

Sachin Tendulkar praised the sky-

Fans and former cricketers lauded the 29-year-old engineer-turned-cricketer’s stupendous performance. In such a situation, India’s legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar has also praised this bowler. In a video uploaded on the official YouTube page of the franchise, Nita Ambani (co-owner of MI) requested Tendulkar to give a short speech in the dressing room after the win.

Tendulkar termed Mumbai’s innings against Lucknow as a game-changing moment and described Madhwal’s performance as unbelievable. Green and Surya’s partnership set the stage for us,” Tendulkar said. 182 has been the best score on this big ground.

It was the turning point of the match for Tendulkar

The wicket was different from the last match, but when we came out it looked like we were defending 145. Fielding was excellent. It was unbelievable. Tendulkar said Badoni’s shot (in the 10th over against Madhwal) was the turning point of the game for him.

Krunal’s wicket is important-

Krunal’s wicket was crucial but two wickets in one over forced Krunal to play that shot. Few dot shots and he goes over the line. This was the turning point for Tendulkar. (Looking at Akash Madhwal) Keep up the great work he said.

Madhwal made a new record-

Madhwal holds the record for the joint most economical five-wicket haul in IPL history, equaling India legend Anil Kumble. Kumble had also registered similar figures against Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2009 while representing Royal Challengers Bangalore.
