In a relief to former Prime Minister Imran Khan, Pakistan’s Anti-Terrorism Court has granted him bail before his arrest. The court has given relief to Imran till June 2. It has also ordered the 70-year-old chief of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party to cooperate during the investigation.

Daz’s cases against Khan include the attack on the Qom Commander’s House in Lahore. Addressing the journalists in Adalach, Imran Khan said that he had never seen such an act in the last 35 years. He said that it seems as if the fundamental rights of all the citizens have been snatched away. Now only the courts are protecting human rights. Cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan also said that he will fight till the last ball.

The paramilitary Pakistan Rangers arrested Khan on 9 May, leading to unrest across Pakistan. For the first time in Pakistan’s history, protesters stormed the army headquarters in Rawalpindi and set fire to a corps commander’s house in Lahore.

The police put the death toll in the violence at 10, while Imran Khan’s party claimed 40 people died. He claimed that his party supporters were also killed in the firing by security officials.
