Wrestlers continue to protest against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, chief of Wrestling Federation of India, at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. A mahapanchayat of all the khaps is going to be held in Haryana on Sunday (May 21) to prepare the contours of the protest. Amidst all this, female wrestler Vinesh Phogat has also warned. He said that some big decision can be taken in the Mahapanchayat, which will not be good for the country.

The Khap Panchayats had given time till May 21 to the Central Government in support of the wrestlers. The deadline expired on Sunday, due to which a mahapanchayat of Khaps is to be held in Haryana today. Earlier on Saturday, Vinesh Phogat had warned that if Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh is not arrested then our elders can take a big decision. Which will not be in the interest of the country.

‘Decision can harm the country’

Vinesh said that the decision taken by our elders can be big, which will not be in the interest of the country. This can harm the country. He said that the country had to bear the brunt of the farmer’s movement that lasted for 13 months. If there is any more movement like this then definitely the country will suffer.

Wrestlers say that this is not an easy fight and we have suffered a lot. Wrestlers say that the issue which could have been resolved in a minute, has not been resolved even after a month.

Wrestlers allege – were not allowed to watch the match

Meanwhile, the wrestlers allege that the Delhi Police stopped them from watching the IPL match to be held in Delhi on Saturday. On which Delhi Police said that no wrestler with a valid ticket has been stopped from watching IPL matches at Arun Jaitley Stadium.

A senior police officer said that 10 to 12 wrestlers and others had come to the stadium to watch the match. However, only five of them had tickets. The official said that people without tickets or ‘pass’ are not allowed to enter.
