Fast bowler Josh Hazlewood has been included in the Australian squad for the World Test Championship final against India from June 7. The 32-year-old fast bowler left the IPL midway due to injury and returned to his hometown. However, the Test captain has been included in the pace attack along with Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Scott Boland. For Hazlewood, who has taken 222 wickets in 59 Tests so far, the selectors will not need to keep all-rounder Michael Nasser or fast bowler Sean Abbott in the team.

Nasser and Abbott are currently playing county cricket in England. Head coach Macdonald recently said that if a player gets injured, he can be included in the team. Hazlewood has played only four Tests since 2021 due to various injuries.
