PIB Fact Check: If your account is in SBI and you are getting messages to temporarily lock your account, then you need to be careful. Because many SBI customers have received messages claiming that their accounts will be temporarily locked due to suspicious activity. But these fake messages are sent by scammers to the customers. If you also receive such a message, do not respond to it and inform your bank immediately. So that no one can cheat you.

Government’s official fact checker PIB Fact Check has warned SBI customers about fake messages. A fake message in the name of SBI claims that the recipient’s account has been temporarily locked due to suspicious activity. Do not respond to any such fake email/SMS to share your banking details,” PIB Fact Check tweeted. Report such messages immediately to report.phishing@sbi.co.in.

What will happen if I click on such a link?

When you click on such a link, you run the risk of losing all your money in your bank account and your personal data. Clicking on any link sent by the scammer to your phone or email-id provides the data needed by the scammer to access your account. What to do if you get such a message?

 

Do not respond to any email/SMS/Whatsapp asking to share personal or banking details.

SBI advises its customers on its website not to disclose any personal information through text messages, including account numbers, passwords or any sensitive information that can be used fraudulently.
