Hamirpur: Criminal who wrote history shot, injured in police encounter

Hamirpur: A history sheeter criminal was seriously injured in a police encounter in the forest early on Monday morning. He has been admitted to Sadar Hospital. The criminal shot dead the sub-inspector during a police raid late on Sunday evening. The inspector is still undergoing treatment at the hospital. Illegal arms, cartridges and shells have been recovered from his possession.

A video of Shambhu Kushwaha, a resident of Patara village in Kurara police station area, went viral on social media a few days ago, in which he was roaming around the village with an illegal weapon. Based on the complaint of the villagers, Patara police station in-charge Surendra Singh Abhishek and two other constables went to raid the village with a police jeep late on Sunday around 7 pm. On hearing the arrival of the police, the history sheeter hid in the bushes near the house, where he opened fire as soon as the police arrived, seriously injuring the in-charge of the police post.

The policemen immediately admitted him to Sadar Hospital. This incident spread fear in the entire village. SP Diksha Sharma reached the spot and ordered the arrest of the accused. Throughout the night, a heavy police force cordoned off the village and surrounding areas in search of the history sheeter.

History sheeter shot, injured in retaliatory action by police

Inspector Pawan Kumar Patel of Kurara police station said on Monday that combing was done throughout the night to find the history-sheeter criminal Shambhu Kushwaha who fired at the inspector. While combing the forest on the way from Patara to Nethi, the criminal opened fire on the police team, prompting the police to retaliate and arrest him. It is said that the accused was shot in both the legs. He has been admitted to Sadar Hospital.

A dozen serious cases have been registered against the history sheeter

Kurara SHO PK Patel said that Shambhu Kushwaha is a vicious criminal against whom a dozen cases of robbery and fatal assault have been registered in Lalpura and Jalalpore. Said that action has also been taken under the Gangster Act in view of his serious crimes. He was also involved in hooliganism in Patara village, about which several complaints were made by the villagers. Stated that Patra Chowki police incharge was shot dead and fugitive history sheeter was captured within 8 hours.
