Gujarat Earthquake: Another earthquake in Kutch, no casualties

According to the Institute of Geological Research (ISR), the earthquake was registered at 6.40 pm. Its epicenter was 19 km north-east of Bhachau in the district. It may be mentioned that earlier on May 17 there was an earthquake in Kutch, the magnitude of which was 4.2.

The Kutch district administration said that no casualties were reported after today’s earthquake. Kutch district is a high risk zone full of geological activities. Earthquakes of low intensity occur from time to time.

It is worth mentioning that earlier in 2001 there was an earthquake in Bhuj of Kutch. It was the third largest and second most destructive earthquake in the last two centuries. 13,800 people lost their lives then. 1.67 lakh people were injured during this earthquake.
