Today everyone watches YouTube on mobile and smart TV. However, people will now have to be prepared to watch long advertisements on YouTube. Google has changed YouTube’s new advertising policy. Now Google has made up its mind to show longer advertisements in YouTube videos. Now users will not even have the option to skip this ad.
As per YouTube’s new advertising policy, a 30-second ad will be shown between videos. This new ad policy will start from America. Google has not given any information about when it will be implemented in other countries. If this experiment is successful in terms of business there, then Google will implement it in other countries including India. YouTube currently shows two 15-second commercials on the same video with a skip button. However, ads may vary depending on the video.
Google gave this information in a blog post
Google has given information about YouTube’s new ad policy through a blog post. The post states that Google will also implement the pause ad idea in YouTube videos on Smart TVs. In this feature an advertisement will pop up when the video is paused and will be displayed till the video starts playing again. When this ad pops up, the size of the pause video will be reduced on the screen.
YouTube Premium only supported
Currently the only option to skip long commercials on YouTube is in the form of a YouTube Premium subscription. YouTube Premium subscription costs Rs 129 per month in India. Premium members can skip ads and watch videos. With the Premium subscription, users also get a host of other benefits including the ability to watch YouTube music and videos in Peep Mode.
