G7 Summit: Bilateral meeting between PM Modi and Rishi Sunak, now off to Papua New Guinea

Today is the third day of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Japan. The PM has reached the spot in Hiroshima where America dropped the atomic bomb 78 years ago. The Prime Minister paid tribute to the victims of the atomic bomb attack at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial and later visited the Peace Memorial Museum.

 

 

Meet Rishi Sunak who…

The PM’s next program will begin with his participation in the G7 meeting. Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a bilateral meeting with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak in Hiroshima. Earlier, on the sidelines of the G-7 summit in the Japanese city, Prime Minister Modi met Indonesian President Joko Widodo and UN chief Antonio Guterres separately. PM Modi had a warm meeting with Rishi Sunak. The two leaders reviewed the strategic partnership. After today’s event, the Prime Minister will leave for Papua New Guinea to attend the India Pacific Islands Cooperation Summit.

 

 

India has announced to hold the Quad meet in 2024

On Saturday (May 20), PM Modi also met G-7 and Quad leaders along with Zelenskiy. Speaking at the Quad Summit, the PM said that the Quad Grouping is an important platform to ensure peace, stability and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific. It is the engine of world trade, innovation and growth. During the meeting, PM Modi announced that the Quad meeting will be held in India in 2024. PM Modi also met the Prime Minister of Brazil and discussed many important issues.

 

 

Zelensky invited PM Modi to visit Ukraine

PM Modi met Ukrainian President Zelensky in Hiroshima, Japan. Meanwhile he said about the war that it is a humanitarian issue for us, for which India will definitely do something for Ukraine. At the same time, Zelensky invited PM Modi to visit Ukraine.
