G-20 Summit 2023: Saudi Arabia and Turkey give a big blow to India, a wave of happiness in Pakistan

[ad_1]

A three-day tourism group meeting in Jammu and Kashmir is starting from Monday. 150 delegates from 25 countries are coming to participate in this meeting. But Saudi Arabia and Turkey, Pakistan’s special friends in G-20, are not participating in the meeting to be held in Kashmir. China, a close friend of Pakistan, has also distanced itself from the meeting. Pakistani media is happy that Saudi Arabia and Turkey are not going to the meeting. For the past few days, the Pakistan government has been appealing to Muslim countries not to participate in the G-20 meeting to be held in Kashmir. However, there is no concrete information on whether these countries are not participating in the meeting due to political reasons or anything else.

This can be called a big blow for India

The non-participation of Saudi Arabia and Turkey in the meeting held in Kashmir is being seen as a major setback for India. By hosting this G-20 meeting in Kashmir, India wants to send a message to the world that it is an integral part of India. Along with this, India wants to develop the tourism sector in Kashmir. Officials say the participation of member states of the world’s most powerful club, the G-20, is seen in India’s support.

Saudi Arabia’s absence from the G-20 meeting in Kashmir is raising many questions

India abolished the special status of Jammu and Kashmir by abrogating Article 370 on 5 August 2019. Pakistan was angered by this action of India and along with this, Pakistan ended its trade relations with India. Pakistan also reduced political ties. Turkey also criticized the abrogation of Article 370 in support of Pakistan. However, Saudi Arabia has not reacted strongly to the removal of Article 370 from Kashmir. And now the absence of Saudi Arabia in the G-20 meeting in Kashmir is raising many questions.

Turkey severely criticized over Kashmir

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has raised the issue of Kashmir on several occasions. Addressing the United Nations General Assembly on 24 September 2019, he said that the international community has failed to resolve the Kashmir issue for the past 72 years. He said that India and Pakistan should resolve the Kashmir issue through dialogue.

Kashmir is as important to Pakistan as it is to Turkey: Turkish President

Even when Erdogan visited Pakistan in February 2020, he raised the issue of Kashmir. Addressing a joint session of the Pakistani Parliament, he said that he would continue to support Pakistan on the Kashmir issue. He further said that Kashmir is as important to Pakistan as it is to Turkey. India then responded by saying that Turkey should not interfere in India’s internal affairs.

Relations between Saudi Arabia and India

Relations between Saudi Arabia and India are very good. Apart from this, Saudi Arabia is also silent on the Kashmir issue. After the removal of Article 370 from Kashmir, Narendra Modi also visited Saudi Arabia in October 2019. In a bilateral conversation between Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman and Modi, an Indian official said that Saudi Arabia has told Pakistan that it considers Jammu and Kashmir an internal matter of India.

Has Pakistan put any pressure on Saudi and Turkey??

For some time now there have been reports in Pakistani newspapers that Pakistan wants Saudi Arabia and Turkey not to participate in the G-20 meeting being held in Kashmir like China. And the non-attendance of the meeting by Saudi Arabia and Turkey is a diplomatic victory for Pakistan to publish such reports.

It is natural for G-20 to meet in states and Union Territories of India: External Affairs Minister

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar reacted strongly to his remarks, saying that Kashmir has always been a part of India and it is natural that G-20 meetings are held in Indian states and Union Territories.
