Hamirpur, May 27 (Hindustan Times). Four houses caught fire due to a short circuit in Devrai Dera of Chandaut village on Saturday afternoon. On hearing the sound of the victim, people gathered around and tried to put out the fire. Neighboring houses were also hit by strong winds. On hearing the fire, there was a stampede in the village and in a hurry the villagers brought water from their houses and rushed to Summersville to extinguish the fire, but due to the storm, the villagers brought the fire under control after a lot of effort. On being informed about this, the police reached the station and took information about the incident.

According to the information, a fire broke out in the house of Sunder Nishad, Shyamkaran Nishad, Shyambihari, Kandhi, residents of Derai Dera of Chandaut village. By the time people realized nothing, the fire had also engulfed four houses.

The villagers informed the fire brigade about the fire, but the fire was brought under control before the arrival of the fire brigade. Sunder and Shyamkaran of the victim’s family said that in this incident, some grains, pipes, straw, plastic drums, bicycles, jewelry and twenty five thousand cash of our people were burnt to ashes.
