First ‘National Ramayana Festival’ was organized in Chhattisgarh

Raipur: On the lines of the National Tribal Dance Festival in Chhattisgarh, a grand three-day National Ramayana Festival is going to be organized in Raigad district from June 1 to June 3. Vigorous preparations are being made for this program by the cultural department. Like the tribal dance festival, artists from different states of the country are also being invited. Very soon, a unique presentation of Ramayana by artists from India and abroad will be seen on the soil of Chhattisgarh.

Lord Shri Ram has a deep connection with Chhattisgarh. It is believed that Lord Rama passed through Dandakaranya during his exile and a part of the forests of Chhattisgarh was part of Dandak Aranya, keeping in mind the program will feature special presentations on Aranya Kand events. Cultural department officials said on Tuesday that in the Ramayana festival, Manas Mandali artists from different states of the country will perform from 2 pm to 6 pm and Manas Mandali artists from abroad will perform from 8 pm to 10 pm. In this grand event, Ramayana will be presented by Manas teams from various states as well as foreign teams on a theme centered on Aranya Kand. A mass Hanuman Chalisa and a grand Kelo Aarti will also be organized at the National Ramayana Festival, in which thousands of lamps will be donated.

Officials of the Culture Department said that for the first time in the state, the National Ramayana Festival will be organized in a grand manner by the Culture Department at the Ram Leela Maidan in Raigad. Manas Mandals participating in this festival will be awarded. In which the first prize is Rs 5 lakh, the second prize is Rs 3 lakh and the third prize is Rs 2 lakh. This national level program by the state government will be a unique initiative towards preserving the culture of the state.

It is worth mentioning that the story of Ramayana has been written in many languages ​​and has been staged in many countries. The stage for their beautiful performance will be Raigad’s Ramlila Maidan. Ramlila has been an unbroken tradition in our country. A large number of people will be able to learn about their ideals through Ram Katha when the festival presents Ram Katha.

Tulsidas Ji’s Ramcharit Manas is widespread in Chhattisgarh. Now through Ramayana Utsav, viewers will get a chance to glimpse the ideals of Lord Rama from Valmiki to Bhavabhuti. The Ramayana ranges from the Tamil Ramayana of Kamban to the Bangla Ramayana of Kritivas. Along with this, many forms of it are prevalent in South-East Asian countries as well. Viewers will be able to get a glimpse of these beautiful forms of Sri Rama’s character through the Ramayana festival.
