Firozabad, May 25 (Hindustan Times). The court on Thursday sentenced the accused of raping a minor to 20 years imprisonment. The court has also fined the accused. In case of non-payment of fine, he shall suffer additional punishment.
A woman resident of Shikohabad police station area was working in a factory. She went to work in the factory on 09 July 2019. His 10-year-old daughter was alone at home. Meanwhile, a young man from the neighborhood, Sandeep, entered his house. He hugged the girl and pulled her into the room. Raped her there. The accused threatened the victim that he would shoot her if she told anyone. When the mother returned home, the girl narrated her ordeal. The victim’s mother filed a case against Sandeep in the police station. After investigation, the police filed a charge sheet against him in the court.
The case was heard in the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge, Special Judge POCSO Court No-03 Sanjay Kumar Yadav II. Special public prosecutor Kamal Singh, who is arguing the case for the prosecution, said several witnesses had testified during the trial. Several pieces of evidence were presented before the court. Based on witness testimony and evidence, the court convicted Sandeep and sentenced him to 20 years in prison. The court has also imposed a fine of 32 thousand rupees on the guilty Sandeep. Failure to pay the fine will result in additional imprisonment of 6 months.
