Fatehpur: A bus full of passengers traveling from Delhi to Banaras hit a divider on the Usraina highway in the district on Friday and overturned as the bus driver tried to avoid an oncoming out-of-control truck. There were 44 passengers in the bus. The police reached the spot on being informed about the incident and pulled out the passengers from the emergency window. The police breathed a sigh of relief as all the passengers survived the incident.
On Friday morning, a tourist bus traveling from Delhi to Banaras suddenly hit a divider and overturned on the highway near Usraina in Thariav police station area. After the collision, the passengers started shouting. As soon as the incident was reported, the police reached the spot and started a rescue operation to evacuate the passengers to safety.
Sarika, a passenger going to Banaras from Noida, said that she was going to Banaras Vishwanath temple with her two children and grandmother. When suddenly the bus overturned, it seemed that everything was over. Seeing the crying of the children, the arms and legs were separated. All are safe by Baba’s grace.
Abdul Ghaffar, who was going to Prayagraj from Delhi, says that the accident was caused by the driver. If the driver had been careful, the bus would not have overturned. We were sleeping. It is not known what happened at the time of the incident, but when the bus overturned, it seemed like it was all over.
Mohan, who is going to Banaras from Delhi, says that there was no first aid kit in the bus either. Some passengers have also sustained injuries, but no first aid kits have been found. Private bus operators charge money only in the name of convenience, but do not provide convenience.
Brijesh who is going to Banaras to play cricket tournament said that we were going for cricket tournament yesterday. We were all shocked when the bus overturned. God saved us all. The driver said that the truck was coming from the front which caused the accident.
Praveen Singh, Superintendent of Thariav Police Station, said that on getting information about the incident, the police force immediately reached the spot and carried out relief and rescue operations and all the 44 passengers were taken out of the bus safely. NHAI ambulance was also called.
