Farmer guarding garden struck by lightning, killed

Mirzapur: A farmer guarding a mango tree in an orchard under Cheelah police station area died on Friday morning due to lightning strikes. On receiving the information, the police took possession of the body of the deceased and sent it for post-mortem.

Rajendra Singh (52), a resident of Mujehra Kala village, was guarding the village garden while sitting under a mango tree on Friday morning. At the same time, lightning struck the mango tree in the middle of the rain. Because of this, a middle-aged man sitting under a tree was burnt by lightning. Gowad, who was grazing cattle in a nearby field, informed the family after seeing Rajendra dead in the garden. On receiving the information, the police also reached and sent the dead body for postmortem.
