Families living in Chakgarbi will get permanent houses, housing construction work started

Bikaner: Under another sensitive initiative by Collector Bhagwati Prasad, families shifted to Chakgarbi will soon get a permanent home. In the first phase, the construction work of ten houses sanctioned under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) began on Monday. All the houses are being built as per the government norms. 1.5 lakh has been sanctioned by the central government for each household. A toilet will also be built in it.

The district collector said that all the basic facilities are being provided to the families who have migrated to Chakgarbi from different areas of the city. Houses are also sanctioned for them in this category. The work of ten houses of the first phase has started. Yashpal Ahuja, Secretary of the City Development Trust, performed Bhoomi Poojan amid Vedic chants and started the work by laying the first brick.

Beneficiary Ranjit expressed his gratitude to the district collector and the administration for this initiative and said that the efforts of the district collector have brought a radical change in his life. They have got the right to lead a dignified life. His life was very painful for almost two and a half decades. Living in the slums of Sriganganagar Road was no less than a challenge every moment. He said that all basic facilities like water, electricity, roads and community toilets have been provided by the district administration in Chakgarbi. Also, a government school has been approved here, so that the children will get good education. Community building built here will prove beneficial for their social activities.

It is worth mentioning that on the initiative of the District Collector, 800 families living in slums in different areas of the city were shifted here and all kinds of facilities were provided. This is an innovative model across the country. The standard of living of the people will be further improved by the construction of paved houses here.
